Jeremy Corbyn was always going to come under fire from the press after coming within a whisker of Number 10 in June’s General Election, but the sheer scale of spurious nonsense churned out by almost the entirety of the mainstream media in the past few weeks has been utterly extraordinary.
It’s clear that Britain’s billionaire media barons are now firmly on the back foot, and they have all but given up trying to make a positive case for the Tories whilst lame-duck May is still in charge.
So, despite the media’s extraordinarily overzealous campaign of anti-Corbyn attacks completely failing to stop 40% of the public voting for him in June, editors and media barons across the land have once again reverted to type, launching a ceaseless tirade of spurious anti-Corbyn stories, culminating in a ridiculous week-long debacle that was the Labour student debt fiasco.
We won’t go in to detail about the story once again as Evolve, along with many other upstanding publications, have debunked the story countless times.
But thankfully it seems that our efforts to call out the media’s coordinated campaign of lies have not gone unrewarded.
A new YouGov poll has been released – the first since the synthetic Labour student debt charade was instigated by the press – and Murdoch & co will be left absolutely fuming by the results.
Because after doing absolutely everything they can to try and turn the public against Jeremy Corbyn in the past few weeks, the press have once again failed to persuade an increasingly politically aware British public.
Astoundingly, the new YouGov poll shows that Labour have actually managed to INCREASE their lead over the Tories, with Jeremy Corbyn’s party now polling at a colossal 44% of the vote – 2% more than the Tories polled in June’s General Election.

CON: 41% (-)
LDEM: 7% (+1)(via @YouGov, 31 Jul – 01 Aug)

We predicted earlier this month that Jeremy Corbyn’s party wouldn’t be the ones to lose support because of the student debt fiasco – it’d be the Tories losing more public trust for lying yet again.
And just like the outcome of the General Election, we seem to have got this most recent prediction spot on too.
What this latest YouGov poll goes to show is that the media’s influence isn’t just waning, it’s utterly collapsing. The great British public simply aren’t falling for the same old media spin any more.
Murdoch needs to evolve, or lose.
