A sitting Tory Minister has just been filmed apparently ‘attacking‘ a female protester, seemingly completely unrprovoked, at tonight’s posh Mansion House event by ‘shoving her against a pillar and then dragging her out of the building by her neck’.
You can watch the astounding scenes below:

In this longer version of the video, you can see the woman apparently posing no immediate threat as she passes behind Mark Field. He marches her out of the room by her neck. I wasn’t there, so I can’t say she didn’t pose a risk, but it looks heavy handed. pic.twitter.com/zX2BtcPW4t

Unsurprisingly, the Tory Minister’s disturbing actions against the Greenpeace protester came in for significant criticism, with many accusing him of various criminal offences including assault and GBH.
This is so upsetting. The climate-change protestors were, according to the police and friends who were there, wholly peaceful. Why on earth does Field react with such ferocity? The violence of his intervention is quite wrong. https://t.co/q5OorQcQFr

[TW: Violence against women, graphic assault]
Mark Field must resign as an MP. This is horrifying and I hope she presses charges to the fullest extent of the law. https://t.co/VypO7PrAdB— Jack Monroe (@BootstrapCook) June 20, 2019
This is horrific. Conservative Foreign Office Minister Mark Field violently grabs a woman as she protests about climate change at the bankers’ banquet.
This appears to be assault. He must be immediately suspended or sacked. Due to Violence against women.https://t.co/fjy6HZXyyG https://t.co/mM8hJ47ult

One last thought on this… if ever there was an image that sums up the Conservative Party’s disconnect with the younger generation right now it’s a man in black tie at an elite dinner grabbing a climate change protestor by her neck.
