BREAKING: Iain Duncan Smith has resigned as DWP Secretary over benefit cuts

BREAKING! Iain Duncan Smith, the Work and Pensions Secretary, has resigned.

This is according to Chris Ship, the ITV News deputy editor on Twitter.

Iain Duncan Smith has resigned because he doesn’t believe the cuts to disabled people are fair. In his resignation letter, he said “they [the cuts] are not defensible in the way they are placed within a Budget that benefits higher earning taxpayers.”

Has he finally grown a conscience?

More to follow.
